Sandra's Story So Far!
Starting weight 16.9lbs
Weight now 14.7lbs
Total loss to date 30lb
Throughout my husbands Bowel Cancer surgery, alongside lockdown I gained weight and living in Airbnb for 6 months moving every month, didn’t help! We also lived in Spain with our cats for 3 months. I began to feel uncomfortable with how I looked and felt, so, I decided to take control and do something about it!
I looked at various different Weight loss programmes but as I had been a client of Neil’s before, I decided to return to his groups. I can’t and won’t cook so I needed a plan where I could eat Microwaved Meals and not need to cook from scratch.
I walked through the doors of Neil’s Tuesday meeting to such a warm welcome from Neil and I really felt I belonged there immediately and so my journey began. I reactivated my Nutracheck App and was ready to go!
There was another lady called Louise that joined around the same time as me and we were both experiencing the same routine of losing weight then gaining a little the following week. In one of Neil’s meetings he mentioned to not just open the Nutracheck App but to use it too! That really was the lightbulb moment. Louise and I buddied up on the app which made us accountable to each other and we both focused on realistic goals. Now we weigh, measure, barcode all our food and track on the app. We keep each other motivated through the week. We make sure we both add to our food diary daily. I have bought myself some rather posh SMEG scales They are an item of beauty and I use them numerous times everyday.
Exercising daily has become an important routine for me too. I either rollerblade or walk on the seafront, I walk the Park Run every Saturday and I have set myself a daily target of at least 10,000 steps for each day in June and it's so far so good! My clothes feel so much more comfortable on me now. I am happier and more confident since losing this weight and I still have a way to go but hey! I am 30 pounds lighter!
I am enjoying my weight loss journey, it's liveable, realistic and sustainable, I enjoy my food and I eat out regularly too. The secret to my success is Neil, his group, the other members, Nutracheck and my husband. Staying to the whole meetings and not just weighing and leaving is a must to get hints, tips and support.
